چکیده

This paper introduces a model to generate \emotional" animation from \neutral" humanmotion. Using techniques from signal processing, our method calculates certain emotional transformswhich are then applied to existing motions of articulated gures in order to produce the same motions, but with an emotional quality such as angry or sad. These transforms capture the di erence between a neutral and emotional movement with respect to two components: speed (timing), and spatial amplitude (range) of a movement. Since the transforms are applied as global operations, they provide a convenient and e cient way to adapt motion-captured, simulated or keyframed animation of articulated gures to di erent situations and characters.

The effect of mindfulness in motion-based trainings on resiliency, emotion regulation, and job stress

Background: Mindfulness can be effective in improving employees’ psychological wellbeing. The objective of this research was to examine the effects of mindfulness in motion-based (MIM) trainings on resiliency, emotion regulation, and job stress. Materials and Methods: The research method was experimental with a pretest-posttest design, a control group, and a follow-up phase. Using the stratifi...

Low-level Characterization of Expressive Head Motion through Frequency Domain Analysis

For the purpose of understanding how head motions contribute to the perception of emotion in an utterance, we aim to examine the perception of emotion based on Fourier transform-based static and dynamic features of head motion. Our work is to conduct intra-related objective analysis and perceptual experiments on the link between the perception of emotion and the static/dynamic features. The obj...

Analysis and Synthesis of Behavioural Specific Facial Motion

This thesis presents work concerning the analysis of behaviour specific facial motion and its automatic synthesis. Psychology research has shown that facial motion provides important cues to the human visual system for recognition of emotion, identity and gender. Similarly, in Computer Vision facial motion information has been used in face and facial expression recognition. However, the fact th...

Motion analysis for emotional performance of snare drums using a Motion Averaging Method

Proposed here is a “Motion Averaging Method”, for the analysis of motion data of musical performance on expressing emotion obtained by a motion capture system. The method is made to analyze the motion on expressing any emotion on playing the snare drum. Specifically, the motions for an etude with each of emotion (tenderness/happiness/anger/fear/sadness) played by three trained percussionists we...

Cross-Subject Continuous Emotion Recognition Using Speech and Body Motion in Dyadic Interactions

Dyadic interactions encapsulate rich emotional exchange between interlocutors suggesting a multimodal, cross-speaker and cross-dimensional continuous emotion dependency. This study explores the dynamic inter-attribute emotional dependency at the cross-subject level with implications to continuous emotion recognition based on speech and body motion cues. We propose a novel two-stage Gaussian Mix...

Human Emotion Recognition from Motion Using a Radial Basis Function Network Architecture

In this paper a radial basis function network architecture is developed that learns the correlation between facial feature motion patterns and human emotions. We describe a hierarchical approach which at the highest level identiies emotions, at the mid level determines motions of facial features, and at the low level recovers motion directions. Individual emotion networks were trained to recogn...
